Classical Clichees (2002) - 1: "Entrada"

from In My Own Notes (1995-2003) by Reinhold Behringer

about

In 2002 I decided to use my stack of live improvisations which I had recorded as MIDI files, and create a "meaningful" and structured composition from it. The "Classical Clichees" Suite is exactly that: it picks up a variety of motifs which appear in music from the classic-romantic period. I here "quote" these motifs and clichees and bring them into a new context, linking them with modulations and transitions.

Originally, this suite was supposed to have live improvisation parts for the solo violin and cello. In this recording from November 2013, I have added the missing parts and have completed the work.

The first movement has an optimistic and joyful outlook.

Virtual Philharmonic Orchestra (Reinhold Behringer)

Since 1993 I use computers to create music. These are renditions of classical music works which I have known for a long time and of which I am very fond of. I also create my own compositions with these computer tools (sequencer, sampler).

Most of these renditions here are using "Garritan Personal Orchestra 5" samples. I am using the sequencer "Cakewalk" by Bandlab.
